"CARE WITH LOVE AND KINDNESS" is not only our motto but also our strong belief. We strive to promote happy healthy pets, foster long-term relationships with our clients, and celebrate the human-animal bond. Small animal care has changed dramatically in the last decade. Standards of diagnosis and treatment are reaching new heights, and we are pushing our acumen to bring our standards on par with our fellow human medical professionals.
Although, the veterinary profession is taking the plunge into the corporate world, Animal Care Centers are very proud to stay true to the core values as community based animal hospitals. We provide and recommend services based on your pet’s lifestyle rather than corporate recommendations.

Woodbury Road Veterinary Hospital (Est. 1956)
558 Woodbury Road
Plainview, NY 11803
Woodbury Road Veterinary Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in the Plainview, Hicksville, Syosset and Jericho areas. Established in 1956 by Dr. Goris as Hicksville Animal Hospital when this area was only farmland, Hicksville Animal Hospital served all species including cattle, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs. At the peak of his professional achievements Dr. Goris sold the hospital to Dr. Louis Poggi. Hicksville Animal Hospital flourished and served almost 8000-10000 clients. Ultimately in 2001 the practice was sold to Dr. Jackie Shanata. Dr. Jackie changed the name to Woodbury Road Veterinary Hospital, making it a more appropriate name. She then sold the practice to Dr. Jaipal Rana, who took the challenge of ownership on, on September 10th, 2003. It was challenging, and only possible with the support of Animal Hospital of Long Island.
